You creep along the moonlit beach, relieved not to have run into the Coastal Thugs. You believe yourself safe, when you spot a figure up ahead. 

Could it be? Did one of those greedy bastards track you down? You only want to escape their domain. What's the harm in that?

But as the figure comes closer, you notice the horns of an old Goatfolk. The Coastal Thugs have recently targeted the poor Goatfolk. But why is this one so far from his home? Could this mean the Old Goatfolk Lair has been compromised? Did they get to them too?

He lets out a raspy "Baah," as a friendly greeting. Your relief is soon replaced with concern as the moonlight catches the blood on his tattered clothes.

"Baah, take this, baah," the Goatfolk wheezes, pressing into your hand a bloody scroll. "Baah, take it! Take it and run!"

You know better than to question him. Scroll in hand, you run toward the wilderness, away from the beach. "Could this be it?" you wonder, "The secret to finally defeating those Coastal Thugs?"

Your mind races with possibilities as the sounds of the ocean slowly fade away behind you. 

Defeating Dragon5 is a rules toolkit for running a classless old school RPG with minimal conversion. Based on Knave, this toolkit brings the 6 core abilities closer to their original equivalent, which makes conversion easier and helps ease those from the latest edition into the wonderful world of the OSR, and in a broader sense, the DIY RPG movement. This toolkit also reintroduces spells from OSR games and has a new built-in leveling system which is based on players' in-game actions.

If there is enough demand, I may make a formatted version with better quality layout and add in illustrations.
